Our small farm is located on twelve acres of blackland prairie near Grandview, Texas. We raise goats and poultry following seasonal cycles and natural practices. It’s our belief that animals raised in accordance with nature are happier and healthier, and produce tastier, more nutritious food. We’re also committed to serving and supporting our local economy, believing that food grown at home is the only path to a sustainable future.
Too much of a good thing is, well, still too much! We strive to keep our farm diverse by maintaining small numbers of varied livestock. By keeping stock densities low, we can ensure the continued health of the land and the animals that rely upon it. The animals help feed the gardens, the gardens help feed the animals, and we get healthy, delicious food from both! This is how it works in nature, and what we strive to emulate here on our farm. Our animals have unlimited access to the outdoors and are fed a varied diet appropriate to each species. They receive a modest ration of milled feed, as well as hay, fresh foods and forage. No animals were meant to live and thrive solely on corn and soybeans – the varied diets we provide ensure optimal health and high quality eggs, meat and milk.
